Trip Generation Rate Surveys

Trip Generation Rate Surveys

  • A trip generation rate is a measure of quality that converts the number of passengers or vehicles entering and exiting certain facilities into an index unit. The purpose of a trip generation rate survey is to study travel volumes and patterns of passenger/vehicle generated by each type of facility in order to calculate the trip generation rate.
    • These surveys are used as basic data to establish transport measures, predict transport demand (which changes according to city plan and development), establish improvement measures, and implement trip generation charge policies.
  • Survey were conducted in 1999-2001, 2010-2011, and 2012 based on Articles 12 and 17 of the National Transport System Efficiency Act and Article 51 of Urban Traffic Improvement Promotion Act.
