2014 – Research Assessment of Transport Network Performance

• Established a network for analyzing transport (road, railway) and a transport map (road, railway, public transportation)
• Assessed transport costs and industry service indexes
• Investigated usage of transport means, freight transport conditions at distribution hubs, national transport statistics, trip generation units, and transport infrastructure
• Established and analyzed big data transport statistics system

2013 – Vehicle Usage Research

• Revised and renewed nationwide passenger and freight O/D travel, and analyzed and forecasted major shipping companies’ distribution trends
• Created distribution maps, established and analyzed network for transport analysis, analyzed trip generation units, and investigated and analyzed transport usage in special periods
• Established database for greenhouse gas emissions, renewed network for recently changed roads, created transport maps, and studied control indexes for transport networks

2012 – Nationwide Freight O/D Travel and Transport Demand Forecast Research

• Revised and renewed nationwide passenger O/D travel, studied nationwide freight O/D travel, and forecasted transport demand
• Established a network for transport analysis, investigated discontinued road traffic cost function, and conducted research on improvement of transport demand credibility
• Analyzed trends of distribution activities by industry, created domestic distribution maps, conducted research on maritime freight O/D travel and transport demand forecast, investigated national transport statistics, investigated vehicle usage, assessed transport costs and TSI, and established a database for greenhouse gas emissions
• Investigated transport infrastructure, created transport maps, carried out preliminary investigation of public transport networks, analyzed network monitoring, and established and operated database system

2011 – Nationwide Interregional Freight O/D Research

• Conducted research on nationwide passenger O/D travel and transport demand forecast, investigated nationwide freight O/D travel, revised and renewed nationwide freight O/D travel, revised and renewed maritime freight O/D, and investigated transport networks
• Established transport network GIS database, established and analyzed network for transport analysis, investigated national transport statistics (including trip generation unit), established database for transport costs and greenhouse gas emissions, investigated transport during special periods, and established and operated database system

2010 – Nationwide Interregional Passenger O/D Research

• Investigated nationwide passenger O/D travel, investigated trip generation unit, and conducted preliminary investigation on nationwide interregional freight O/D travel

• Updated nationwide interregional passenger and freight O/D travel, and analyzed and studied metropolitan passengers
• Utilized high-tech investigation methods, assessed transport industry service indexes, revised and renewed transport maps and network for transport analysis, and established database for transport statistics and reference materials
• Developed KTDB statistics analysis system

2006 – Research of 5 Major Metropolitan Cities and Capital Area

• Investigated transport infrastructure, investigated and analyzed transport networks for maritime freight imported from or exported to Northeast Asia, and investigated transport for each metropolitan city
• Conducted in-depth analysis and study on nationwide interregional passenger and freight O/D, and analyzed traffic during special holiday periods
• Revised and renewed transport maps and network for transport analysis, and established database for transport statistics and reference materials
• Expanded database software and hardware, and rebuilt KTDB website
• Organized KTDB association and established information strategy planning

2002 – Establishment of National O/D Travel

• Established transport database on a national scale by completing analysis on major investigations of land, maritime, and distribution areas
• Compiled data for passenger and freight O/D travel nationwide, including five metropolitan cities
• Created transport maps and established a network for transport analysis based on NGIS figures

2001 – Land and Maritime Traffic Research

• Investigated land distribution in small and medium-sized cities within the five metropolitan areas, and nationwide maritime distribution
• Changed name to Korea Transport Database in January according to revision of the National Transport System Efficiency Act
• Established a thoroughly researched and analyzed transport database, and provide it free of charge via the internet

2000 – Research on Transport in Capital Areas

• Investigated public transport usage in Seoul and surrounding areas, and investigated and analyzed trip generation units and traffic in major sections
• Created transport maps of Seoul and six metropolitan cities, and developed software to enable external access via the internet

1999 – Research on Transport in 5 Metropolitan Cities

• Attained legal grounds for transport database after National Transport System Efficiency Act enacted in February 1999
• Investigated and analyzed household travel, freight travel, use of public transportation, trip generation units, and major road traffic in five metropolitan cities (Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon, Ulsan), created a transport map based on NGIS, and developed basic structure of transport database and basic operating software

1998 – Nationwide Interregional Traffic Research

• Investigated nationwide interregional road transport and passenger travel as a recovery effort from the 1997 Asian financial crisis
